The popular archery based lottery betting game is played in Meghalaya. Inspired by the traditional archery game, which is very popular in the state, the game is played Monday through Saturday. The Shillong Teer was legalized under the Meghalaya’s Entertainment and Betting Tax Act (Amendment). Held at the Polo Ground in Shillong, the archery match takes place in two rounds. Archers from the 12 archery groups of the Khasi Hills Archery Sports Association participate in the game.

The first round of the archery match begins at 3:45 p.m. and the second round of the Shillong Teer begins an hour later at 4:45 p.m. The results of the two archery events are published on the aforementioned website at 4:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. respectively. Ticket holders place their bets on the performance of the archers. In the preliminary round, 50 archers shoot 30 arrows at the target, and in the second round, 20 arrows are shot.

Those wishing to participate in the legalized betting game of Shillong Teer can purchase their tickets at selected government authorized stores. They open Monday to Saturday and the schedule for the client is from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Individuals do not have to struggle to find these stores, as there are a total of around 5,000 ticket booking desks.

When participants purchase a bet ticket, they are asked to select a number between 0 and 99. This number signifies the person’s prediction on how many arrows will hit the target on a particular archery round. .

Rs. 80 is given for every Rs. 1 ticket to the person who predicts the correct answer for the first round of the archery match. While participants who make precise guesses for the second round of the match receive Rs. 60 for every Rs. 1 ticket.
